At just seven and a half inches across, this is a small yet striking chessboard with miniature pieces. What is truly amazing about it is that no compromise has been made on the superb quality and attention to detail. It is all crafted from solid wood (no fibreboard or MDF has been used in any part of its production). Perfectly inlaid, each individual square is a separate cut of wood.
Beautifully carved in the classic Staunton style, each of the pieces boasts not only an amazing amount of detail despite their diminutive size, but this set also comes with additional queens. Fitted with magnetic bases, the pieces stick well to the chessboard, which has concealed metal. This is a lovely little set and would make a great gift for any chess enthusiast.
